Our bride Mandy is from the state of Alabama, a sports enthusiast, and soccer coach. Her look for her wedding day was a far cry from smelly gymnasiums and sweaty soccer fields. We met with both Mandy and her mom for a hair and makeup trial at The Palms Resort. It's not unusual for Turks and Caicos brides to have a trial done before their wedding day but Mandy's mom also wanted to make sure that she too would be glamourous for her daughter's big event.
Mandy left it all up to 'the professional' (her words) to come up with the perfect hair and makeup to accompany her dress. Strapless dresses gives way for many options when it comes to a hairstyle. An open neckline and shoulder lends room for an updo or down flowing hair. Mandy's haircut is layered with varying lengths so we decided on an updo with lots of volume, texture and height. For makeup we kept it warm and golden. Once her wedding look was accomplished we customized hair and makeup for her mom and were all set for the big day ahead.
The Best Day For A Hair and Makeup Trial
Many of our brides have their hair and makeup trial done on their day of the rehearsal dinner at a Turks and Caicos resort. By doing so, they are glammed up for an actual event. To ensure that our bride's wedding vision is not duplicated, we change her look entirely before she heads down to greet family and friends.
The Call Back
A couple hours after leaving The Palms Resort, we received a call from the wedding planner to return for hair and makeup. This wedding party was having so much fun even before the rehearsal dinner that Mandy's mom ended up being thrown into the pool by her son. Talk about a good time!
On Mandy's wedding day we began with her mom. It's best to get all the participants ready before the bride so that everyone is availble to give her the attention she deserves. After Mandy's hair and makeup was done it was time to get her into her dress.
